For anglers, the Cantal region offers primarily its nearly 3000 kilometres of first-class rivers and streams which flow down from the hills of the Cantal towards all points of the compass, and to them we must add more than 2500 hectares of reservoirs and lakes listed as being in the first or second category for the quality of their fishing.

- Alagnon: from the Vernet bridge to the boundary with Haute Loire ( 23 kms )
- Sianne: from the bridge at Vèze to Haute Loire ( 16 kms )
- Arcueil: from the mill at Bavier to the confluence with the Alagnon ( 17 kms )
- Alagnonette: its full length, plus the lower reaches of the following streams: Carmensac, Peyrusse and Valjouze |
